when I was desperate for change

I sought the nearest cliff edge and its smiling rocky face
The welcome pull of vertigo and looming empty space
The intrigue of the unknown beyond the life I knew
The choice to jump and chance to fall and place to start anew
I packed up all my baggage and I tossed it over first
Afraid that it would weigh me down or take me someplace worse
And then I took a big breath in and said a little prayer
Of thanks and love and gratitude for all that brought me there
I didn't fall, but rather leapt into the great abyss
Knowing all the times I fell prepared me just for this
